Gameplay

At the start of the game, players kick off with a 60-card deck and a hand of 7 cards. The gameplay unfolds in turns, and in each round, players go through the following actions:

Draw a card from their deck.
Utilize their Pokémon’s attacks to inflict damage on their opponent’s Pokémon.
Attach Energy cards to their Pokémon to boost their damage output.
Play Supporter cards to gain a strategic advantage.
Activate Stadium cards to introduce varied effects into the game.

The beating heart of the Pokémon TCG lies in Pokémon cards. Each Pokémon possesses its unique type, attack, and HP (Hit Points). Pokémon can be stationed on the bench or in the Active Spot, with the Active Pokémon being the one capable of attacking and receiving damage.

Attacks

Pokémon unleash attacks to deal damage to their opponent’s Pokémon. Each attack comes with a cost, indicating the number of Energy cards required for the Pokémon to execute the attack. Attacks also specify a damage amount, representing the number of damage counters inflicted on the opponent’s Active Pokémon when the attack is deployed.

Energy

Energy cards fuel Pokémon attacks and each Pokémon requires a specific type of Energy to power its attacks. Energy cards get attached to Pokémon by flipping the card face down and placing it beside the Pokémon.

Supporter cards come into play exclusively from the hand. They serve various purposes, such as drawing more cards, searching the deck for specific cards, or returning Pokémon from the discard pile to the deck.

Stadium cards find a spot face up in the middle of the field, influencing the game in diverse ways. They might alter the damage dealt by attacks or the number of Energy cards attachable to Pokémon.

Winning the Game
